Netflix + Chili
Nothing tastes better on a cold Winter night than a hot bowl of chili! It’s a meal that my whole family loves and still delish as leftovers the next day. Paired with warm cornbread and honey butter (Gabe’s fav) this meal is sure to be a hit!
Here’s my recipe, which I follow very loosely by the way because sometimes measuring takes too long.
2 lbs lean ground beef or turkey
1 onion diced
1 jalapeno seeded and finely diced
6 cloves garlic minced
2 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 green bell pepper seeded and diced
14.5 oz crushed tomatoes canned
19 oz kidney beans canned, drained & rinsed
14.5 oz diced tomatoes with juice
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 cup beer
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Brown the meat, onions, garlic and chili powder all together draining the fat when it’s cooked.
Add the rest of the ingredients to the meat mixture and bring to a boil.
After it boils let simmer on the stove for 45-60 minutes.
Top with shredded cheese, onions, Greek yogurt and ENJOY!
