The best part of my day…Dateline and a bowl of Cookies and Cream ice cream.
I finally had the guts to share my dirty little secret. I hope you’ll join me for the journey!
Today I woke up with a sore throat, a headache and a runny nose. Ugh, feels like a summer cold comin’ on. I’m sure it has to do with all the stress brought on from my poor Lola’s illness. Stress is definitely a huge factor in my body’s wellness. I gotta fight this thing. “Ain’t nobody got time to be sick!!” Green juice and lots of sleep is my remedy. Being sick is a great reminder of just how important it is to care for your body.
Today I got to catch up with an old friend from my early journalism days. Kirk Hawkins and I met while we were interns at KEYT in Santa Barbara. We became fast friends and Kirk even took me to one of his FIJI date parties! ( I think the theme was Wild Wild West! Ha!) Anyway, we’ve both gone on to have successful careers that have taken us across the country but through it all we’ve stayed in touch. It’s comforting that someone who also knows the business super well has got my back. We motivate each other, push each other and even provide therapy now again. You’re the best Kirkie!
I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to work here at NBC LA. I have met some truly dynamic and wonderful people at this station. And I mean like really great people…people that I know will be a part of my life forever. I think that’s uncommon, especially in a business filled with so much ego and competitiveness. Not here on Today in LA. We all get along really well and totally have each others backs. No matter what happens with my future here at the station, I am so glad that I’ve had this experience.
PS The title for this blog was brought to you by legendary news man, Adrian Arambulo. Thanks for your contribution AA!
Friday night means sushi night for me and my husband. I love our little end of the week tradition. We go to our fav casual sushi spot nice and early, stuff our bellies and then get home in time to watch Dateline. Most of the time I fall asleep before the show is over (one of the peril’s of a 2:00am wake up call) but still our little routine that I love.
I am so excited to share some great news with you! I’m back on morning TV and just a few hours west of Phoenix. I just accepted a job at KUSI in San Diego!! I’m the new weekday morning anchor for Good Morning San Diego from 5-9am!!
While it’s extremely tough for me to leave you all in Arizona, I think this is the change I’ve been searching for. I’m thrilled to be back in California, living near the beach and doing what I love, helping people start their day off with a smile. Have no doubt though, you’ve made a huge impact in my life and AZ will always have a part of my heart. I hope the next time you’re vacationing in San Diego, you’ll flip on Channel 9 and join me for a morning. I’ve already made Rick and Ruth promise to tune in and stop by my place in Little Italy when they visit the boat…and that means lots of happy hours with the D’Amico’s!
Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t say thank you a million times over for all of your well wishes and prayers. I can’t help but smile as I read all of your kind words of love and support.
I am one lucky girl.
Stay classy Phoenix.
